Introduction

This advanced course introduces participants to the principles and practical application of Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) to optimize asset integrity management. Moving beyond time-based and reactive maintenance, the program focuses on systematically assessing the probability and consequence of failure for critical equipment. Participants will learn how to prioritize inspection and maintenance efforts to those areas presenting the highest risk, maximizing resource efficiency and minimizing the potential for catastrophic failure. The course integrates the requirements of key standards like API 580/API 581 and provides a framework for developing a truly data-driven, cost-effective, and safe maintenance program for hydrocarbon facilities.

Objectives
